About Extreme Makeover Beau Fort Country
Extreme Makeover Beau Fort Country is a small online magazine about making everyday life feel a little better, one manageable change at a time. Some changes are about the body: a calmer skin routine, a breakfast that lasts until lunch, a few minutes of movement on the living room floor. Others are about the rooms you live in: a fresh wall color, a closet that finally closes. We think the two belong together, because the way your home works shapes the habits you can keep.
Six corners of the magazine
Our articles fall into six broad areas, and most of them are practical how-to guides you can act on the same week:
- Health covers everyday wellbeing topics, from looking after your teeth to stepping away from cigarettes, always in general terms.
- Skin Care looks at simple routines and common concerns, such as shadows under the eyes.
- Nutrition is about food that is filling, realistic and pleasant to eat, including getting started with meal prep.
- Fitness focuses on beginners and on exercise that fits into a normal home, like our guide to starting workouts at home.
- Home Makeover deals with refreshes you can do yourself, from painting a room to sorting out storage.
- Lifestyle gathers the rest: routines, family moments and the small pleasures that make a week run smoother.
Four writers, four specialties
We are a handful of writers who share an interest in small, sustainable improvements. We publish under first-name pen names: Sunniva writes most of the food pieces, Ansgar looks after movement and fitness, Briallen covers skin and daily habits, and Halvard handles anything involving a paintbrush or a storage box. None of us is a doctor, dietitian, dermatologist or personal trainer, and we will never suggest otherwise. What we bring is curiosity, careful reading of reputable public guidance and a lot of trial and error in our own kitchens and spare rooms.
Turning a question into a guide
Every article starts with a question a real person might type late in the evening: how do I start, what am I doing wrong, what is worth the effort? We then try to answer it in plain language, with steps you can follow and honest notes about what a guide like ours cannot do. On health topics that means we keep things general, avoid miracle claims and point you to a professional when your situation calls for one. On home topics it means we include the safety details that are easy to skip, such as ventilation when painting or ladder sense on a busy afternoon.
You can read more about our process on The Making of This Site, and our health content notice explains the limits of what we publish.
Things you will not find here
We do not sell supplements, creams, equipment or courses, and we are not a clinic or a design studio. We do not run advertising trackers or collect reader data for marketing. Some articles mention products or businesses, and a mention is never a guarantee, so read labels and compare before you buy.
Say hello
Suggestions for new topics, questions about an article or a note that something looks wrong are always welcome. The quickest way to reach us is through our Reach Us page, and if you think a fact needs fixing, our corrections page explains how we handle it.

Built into every guide
What every guide here sets out to do
Steps you can follow
Instructions written in order, so you can start without reading three other pages first.
Safety in the main text
Warnings about fumes, ladders, allergies and symptoms sit where you will read them.
No shopping list first
We start with what most homes already have and mention extras only when they really help.
Room for real life
Guides allow for busy weeks, small kitchens and imperfect mornings.
First names, everyday jobs
The small team behind the guides
Four writers, each with a favorite corner of the subject. None of us claims medical or professional credentials.
Sunniva
Food and nutrition writer
Tests every smoothie and meal-prep idea in a very ordinary kitchen before it reaches the page.
Ansgar
Movement and fitness writer
Writes for the reader who has not exercised in years and wants a gentle, safe way back in.
Briallen
Skin and daily habits writer
Reads ingredient labels for fun and is wary of any jar that promises a miracle.
Halvard
Home projects writer
Happiest with a paint roller or a pile of storage bins, and strict about ventilation.
