Privacy Notice

This notice explains, in plain terms, what happens to information when you visit Extreme Makeover Beau Fort Country. Put simply, almost nothing. This is a static site made of ready-built pages. There are no user accounts, no comment forms that store data, no newsletter database, no analytics tools, no advertising networks and no tracking pixels.

Who is responsible

The site is run by the small editorial team described on our About page. For any question about this notice or your data, write to editor@extrememakeoverbeaufortcounty.com.

What is stored in your browser

When you answer the cookie banner, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage so the banner does not appear on every page. That single entry stays on your device, is never sent to us and contains no personal details. Clearing the stored data for this site in your browser deletes it whenever you like. Our page What We Store in Your Browser describes it in more detail.

Hosting logs

Our pages reach you through a hosting provider, as all websites do. When your browser requests a page, the provider's servers automatically process technical information needed to deliver it and keep the service secure, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, your browser type and whether the request succeeded. These logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, are not combined with other data and are not used by us to identify or profile visitors. As the legal basis, we rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available.

Messages you send

An email to us gives us your address, any name you sign with and the contents of what you wrote. We use this only to read and answer your message, and to keep a record of corrections. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not share your message with anyone outside the team, unless the law requires it. Messages are deleted once they are no longer needed, usually within twelve months. Please do not send us personal health details; we cannot give individual advice and do not need them.

The contact form on our Reach Us page does not send anything itself. It simply opens your own email program with a message ready to go, so nothing is transmitted until you press send there.

Outside links

A few of our articles point to outside websites. Once you follow such a link, that site's own privacy practices apply, and we encourage you to read them.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another place with similar laws, you have rights over your personal data. These include the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use and to receive a copy in a portable format. You may also take a complaint to the data protection authority where you live. Because we hold so little, most requests can be answered quickly; just email the address above.

Children

Extreme Makeover Beau Fort Country is aimed at adult readers. We never set out to gather information about children.

If this notice is revised

If the way the site works changes, for example if we ever add a new feature that handles data, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
